Westfield, MA– Tighe & Bond announced that the firm has promoted five employees to Vice President in recognition of outstanding project and client management skills, in addition to leadership and organizational impact. Additionally, the firm elevated Bill Mertz to the role of Senior Vice President.
Matt Abraham: A staff member with the organization for over two decades, Matt currently manages Emergency Response Services and serves as a client manager for the firm’s power utility clients. He also manages environmental investigations for private clients and specializes in property assessments for real estate transactions involving contaminated properties. He has also served as an Advisory Member to the firm’s Board of Directors. Outside of Tighe & Bond, Matt is an active member of the Licensed Site Professionals Association (LSPA) and annually raises funds and rides in the Pan-Mass Challenge for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Briony Angus: Briony’s expertise is in complex federal, state, and local permitting for a wide variety of waterfront/coastal, land development, and energy projects, bringing over 20 years of professional experience. She has successfully led some of the firm’s largest renewable energy, energy storage, and coastal resiliency projects in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She is an active member of the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC-NE) and New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE).
Craig French: Craig has been leading the structural practice at Tighe & Bond for nearly 20 years. He has over 25 years of experience in structural engineering, which has included structural design for buildings, bridges, and dams, as well as structural conditions assessment projects. Craig serves as a Technical Director within the Building Services Business Line, ensuring technical development of staff, driving technical advancement, and ensuring quality management.
Brian Huntley: With over 30 years of engineering experience and over 20 of those at Tighe & Bond, Brian has been involved in the planning,
design, and management of site development, solid waste, and renewable energy projects throughout his career. He has served as a Technical Director in the Land Use Business Line for the past three years and was a member of both the Safety and Quality Management committees. He is actively involved in the Environmental Business Council (EBC) and is considered one of the firm’s subject matter experts in solid waste design and utility scale renewable energy.
Jon Richer: Jon has served as an integral member of Tighe & Bond’s Land Use and Transportation Business Lines for nearly 20 years, where
he has worked on site civil, general municipal, and transportation projects for private and public clients. During his tenure, he has served in various project delivery, project management, and client management roles. Jon currently manages several large multi-modal transportation improvement projects in Connecticut and serves as the Location Manager of the firm’s Shelton, CT office. He previously served as an Advisory Member to the firm’s Board of Directors and is an active member of the CT Association of Flood Managers (CAFM).
Bill Mertz: Bill serves as the Business Line Leader of the Transportation Business Line and has 30 years of experience on a wide variety of roadway, bridge, transportation, and utility infrastructure projects. In his role, Bill also oversees the financial performance, project management, and technical delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects. He has worked on notable projects for state agencies and local communities throughout New England. Outside of Tighe & Bond, Bill serves as a member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), as well as local Boards.
