The Street Chestnut Hill Announces Chef Dave’s Will Open on May 2nd

Chestnut Hill, MA – The Street Chestnut Hill is bringing even more culinary options to the neighborhood with the arrival of Chef Dave’s, a new restaurant by popular local private chef, David Welch, opening on May 2nd.

With a lifelong love of procuring the freshest and finest quality local ingredients to create some of the most tasteful and artful plates imaginable, Welch is very excited to bring his cooking philosophy to his first-ever restaurant concept. He’s catered parties for every size and occasion, from intimate social engagements to political fundraisers, and is passionate about taking on this exciting venture at The Street within proximity to many of his private clients. Widely known across Boston and Cambridge for his exclusive catering services and outstanding menus, Chef Dave Welch’s sought-after meals will now be available for daily dining. The restaurant’s opening menu showcases some of his famous signature dishes alongside new palette-pleasing creations in a laid-back, intimate “bistro-style” setting for dinner, lunch, weekend brunch, and takeout.

Chef Dave’s Dinner menu features an all-encompassing selection of craveworthy dishes including starters such as Crispy Jerk Duck Wings with cilantro pesto, Grilled Southwestern Shrimp with zest of lemon, and Dave’s Smoked Ribs with light hickory and secret sauce, and a mix of salads. A robust variety of entrées take centerstage with highlights like Dave’s signature Lemon Roasted Half Chicken with roasted potatoes, haricot vert, and au jus; prime meats including a 8 oz. Prime Filet with horseradish Yukon mash, haricot vert, and demi glacé; and a 22 oz. Prime Ribeye for two served with blistered tomatoes and haricot vert; and fresh seafood dishes such as Pan Seared Halibut with wilted spinach, cherry blossom soy, and Thai basil, and Indian curry crusted Faroe Island Salmon. A thoughtfully curated and rotating selection of exclusive wines and classic cocktails round out the menu.  Chef Dave’s’ Lunch menu offers lighter fare including beautiful salads and bowls, such as Dave’s Power Quinoa Bowl, with fresh scallions, red onion, bell pepper, dried cranberries and Italian vinaigrette, as well as delicious pressed and cold sandwiches like Dave’s Tuna Melt with tomato and jack cheese, and Napa Valley Chicken Salad with red grapes, celery, baby greens, and herb mayo. “For over twenty-five years, I’ve been cooking in homes throughout Chestnut Hill and beyond, creating memories over beautiful, well-prepared food. Now, I say, welcome to my home; a nice, cozy place where you’ll love to enjoy some of the most tasteful and artful plates imaginable, drink good wine or have a nice spirit, and delight in service that makes you feel like family,” says Chef David Welch. “Whenever there is a flawlessly catered event in the area, chances are Chef Dave was behind it. We can’t wait to open the doors to what is sure to be a neighborhood delight,” says Alana Stein, General Manager of The Street Chestnut Hill. Upon opening at The Street Chestnut Hill, Chef Dave’s will join an existing lineup of recent and upcoming openings at the property including Studs, The Vault Nantucket, and the forthcoming Limani, Hummus v’ Hummus and Hummingbird Books. Chef Dave’s is located at 33 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA (next to EYESPOT). It’s opening hours will be Monday – Saturday from 4pm – 10pm, and Sunday from 4pm – 9pm. Lunch and weekend brunch will launch in the coming weeks. Takeout will soon be available via Toast.
