BEVERLY, MA–SV Design has hired Ian Hurlburt as Senior Project Manager to its Beverly office’s residential architecture department.
He has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Rhode Island School of Design. Ian has three decades of architectural experience with an immense residential and commercial design background throughout New England. He spent the last decade and a half at Colin Smith Architecture as Director of Design for the firm.
Ian has a holistic approach to design. His appreciation of designing architecture, interiors, and outdoor spaces together allows for a cohesively designed space for clients to make lasting memories. Ian’s favorite part of the design process is during the early phases, as the design is in the discovery stage. Historic preservation and integrating old and new elements for modern times is a design opportunity that Ian enjoys. He believes each house has a story to tell. Ian is excited to be surrounded by a group of talented and collaborative individuals at SV Design. When not in the office, Ian spends time with his wife and two young children exploring the North Shore. Ian believes art therapy is a way to uncover new design inspiration and is an avid artist among many genres.
