BOSTON — Students from Northeastern University’s Construction Management program recently visited Suffolk’s jobsite at Boston College for the new Catholic Religious Archives (CRA) facility. The tour was led by Frank Davis, Senior Superintendent at Suffolk.
The students are enrolled in a course taught by Mohamad Tassabehji, a Planning Analytics Manager at Suffolk who also serves as a part-time lecturer at Northeastern. The visit challenged students to think critically about the responsibilities of project engineers, superintendents, and project managers, offering a firsthand view of active construction project coordination and execution.
The CRA facility, located on BC’s Brighton Campus, will connect to the Theology and Ministry Library and serve as a repository for archival records of Catholic congregations and religious orders of men and women that have ceased or plan to cease operations. The archives will provide researchers, students, and scholars with resources on the Catholic Church’s societal impact, particularly in education, healthcare, and social services.
The two-story, 44,000-square-foot facility will include 100,000 linear feet of storage space and will also house limited artwork from religious sources across the United States and Canada. Suffolk expects the project to be completed by June 2026.
The site visit offered students a unique perspective on large-scale construction project execution, bridging the gap between academic theory and practical experience while highlighting the complexity of designing and managing specialized archival spaces. This collaboration reflects Suffolk’s ongoing commitment to workforce education and the professional development of future construction leaders.
