Joe Mamayek, AIA, LEED® AP

Principal

Throughout his 30+year career, Joe has approached architecture as a means to explore new frontiers, provide environmental stewardship, and foster connections with communities. Life science, his current focus, is closely linked to these objectives. He establishes not only the design vision for commissions, but also collaborates on their execution. His experience encompasses a variety of building types, including research, hospitality, healthcare, residential, corporate, and mixed-use. During his career, he has led many award-winning projects honored by such organizations as the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Preservation Massachusetts. Brooks has played a pivotal role in the growth of SGA’s Manhattan office, where he leads both the architecture and interior design practices.  His responsibilities are all inclusive:  He oversees all New York-based projects and several commissions around the country, encompassing new construction, adaptive reuse, corporate interiors, and master planning.  An advanced REVIT user, he is a strong advocate of fully integrated BIM project delivery.

Before joining SGA in 2015, Brooks ran his own studio for 10 years, where he focused on commercial, institutional, and residential projects. He has developed expertise in a number of markets, including science and technology, healthcare, cultural institutions, and courthouses. Brooks received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.

Brian received his Master of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.

Eric Svahn, AIA, NCARB

Each effort is focused on adding value to the completed project. Eric received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in interior design from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

At SGA, she has worked on several commercial projects that encompass renovations as well as core and shell office buildings. Over the course of her 20-year career, she’s completed a vast array of projects across the higher-education, mixed-use, hospitality, and senior-living markets.
