Joe Mamayek, AIA, LEED® AP

Principal

Throughout his 30+year career, Joe has approached architecture as a means to explore new frontiers, provide environmental stewardship, and foster connections with communities. Life science, his current focus, is closely linked to these objectives. He establishes not only the design vision for commissions, but also collaborates on their execution. His experience encompasses a variety of building types, including research, hospitality, healthcare, residential, corporate, and mixed-use. During his career, he has led many award-winning projects honored by such organizations as the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Preservation Massachusetts. Brooks Slocum, AIA

Principal

Brooks has played a pivotal role in the growth of SGA’s Manhattan office, where he leads both the architecture and interior design practices.  His responsibilities are all inclusive:  He oversees all New York-based projects and several commissions around the country, encompassing new construction, adaptive reuse, corporate interiors, and master planning.  An advanced REVIT user, he is a strong advocate of fully integrated BIM project delivery.

Before joining SGA in 2015, Brooks ran his own studio for 10 years, where he focused on commercial, institutional, and residential projects. He has developed expertise in a number of markets, including science and technology, healthcare, cultural institutions, and courthouses. Brooks received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.

Brian is a creative and talented professional who balances multiple commissions, including complex urban core and shell projects and large-scale master planning. Although he is most active in conceptual stages, he has strong technical knowledge that allows him to follow the design through to the construction detail level.  He also has a strong command of local zoning ordinances that allows him to effectively navigate the public approval process. Brian received his Master of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.

Eric Svahn, AIA, NCARB

Principal

Eric concentrates on the commercial and life sciences markets. Although he is involved in every project phase, his specialty is construction documentation and construction administration. Each effort is focused on adding value to the completed project. Eric received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University.

Walker Shanklin, AIA

Director, Architecture

As one of SGA’s leading designers, Walker develops conceptual solutions for buildings that influence the surrounding context in a positive way.  His wide-ranging responsibilities include advising clients and overseeing every stage of projects from initial planning to construction. But the projects all share an emphasis on technology: She applies the latest advances to create efficiencies in delivery methods, and strives to help others find rewarding positions in the design industry. Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in interior design from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Jessica Randolph, AIA, NCARB

At SGA, she has worked on several commercial projects that encompass renovations as well as core and shell office buildings. Over the course of her 20-year career, she’s completed a vast array of projects across the higher-education, mixed-use, hospitality, and senior-living markets.
