BURLINGTON, MA— National Development has announced a trio of significant long-term lease renewals at The District, its 1.3 million-square-foot mixed-use campus in Burlington, Massachusetts.
More than 130,000 square feet of office space has been recommitted by tenants COMSOL, Black Duck Software, and Regus, underscoring The District’s ongoing appeal to high-growth, innovation-focused companies.
The renewals include:
COMSOL, a global leader in multiphysics simulation software, expanded its presence by an additional 11,500 square feet at 100 District Avenue, bringing its total leased space to 45,500 square feet under a new 10-year lease.
Black Duck Software, a key player in application security, signed a 7-year renewal for its 45,000-square-foot headquarters at 800 District Avenue.
Regus, a pioneer in flexible coworking space, renewed its 43,000-square-foot lease at 1500 District Avenue for another 7 years, continuing to provide scalable workspace solutions to a variety of businesses.
“We’re proud to see long-standing tenants deepen their commitment to The District,” said Billy Kennedy, Vice President of Asset Management at National Development. “These renewals reflect the enduring value of our next-generation workplace vision—combining best-in-class office space with walkable amenities, dynamic programming, and a people-first environment.”
The District, located in the heart of Burlington’s vibrant commercial corridor off Route 128, has become a sought-after destination for businesses seeking to blend work and lifestyle. With nearly 200 walkable restaurant and retail destinations, a 170-room Marriott Residence Inn, complimentary parking, EV charging stations, and a variety of on-site wellness and community activities, the campus offers a holistic work experience tailored to modern needs.
“Being located at The District reinforces our commitment to attracting top tech talent,” said Marybeth Traynor, Director of Global Workplace at Black Duck Software. “The modern amenities, walkable campus, and proximity to Boston help us foster a culture that’s both high-performing and people-centered.”
Designed for connection and visibility, The District features abundant natural light, open space, and eye-catching architecture visible to more than 225,000 daily commuters along Route 128. Beyond physical space, the campus also invests heavily in tenant engagement, with recent community events ranging from Puppy Therapy and Succulent Planting to Earth Day celebrations and seasonal pop-ups.
The lease renewals serve as a strong endorsement of National Development’s long-term vision for The District: to be a destination that extends far beyond the traditional 9-to-5—a hub where collaboration, wellness, and innovation thrive side by side.
With these renewed commitments, The District continues to solidify its place as a cornerstone of Greater Boston’s innovation economy and a magnet for companies focused on growth, talent, and culture.
