NAIOP Massachusetts Announces 2026 Leadership Team, Honors Members and Projects at Annual Meeting

Boston— NAIOP Massachusetts announced its 2026 leadership team and a series of industry awards during its Annual Meeting on November 19, marking a pivotal year for the chapter as it prepares for a name change and continued advocacy for the commercial real estate sector.

NAIOP announced that Melissa Schrock, Executive Vice President of Mixed-Use Development at HRP Group, has been elected 2026 President of the organization. Schrock will work closely with NAIOP staff and chapter leaders to guide initiatives, support members, and advance the association’s mission. Doug Manz, who served as NAIOP’s 2025 President, has been named 2026 Board Chair.

Other newly elected officers include Patrick Sousa of Marcus Partners as President-Elect, Stephen Davis of The Davis Companies as Treasurer, and Damian Szary of Redgate, who joins the Board Management Committee as Secretary. James Tierney of JLL and Erin Corcoran of Greystar will serve as advisors to the committee.

“NAIOP is the voice of the commercial real estate development industry across Massachusetts,” Schrock said. “I look forward to working alongside NAIOP’s staff and leadership team to support the industry while providing education, advocacy, and opportunities to help NAIOP members succeed.” Schrock leads HRP Group’s national mixed-use development platform and is spearheading the 776 Summer project in Boston.

“Now is a challenging time for the industry,” added Tamara Small, CEO of NAIOP Massachusetts. “I look forward to working with Melissa and our Board as we partner with the business community and public officials to ensure Massachusetts remains a competitive place to work and live.”

Awards Recognize Industry Excellence

During the meeting, NAIOP Massachusetts presented several awards honoring contributions to the commercial real estate community. The 2025 President’s Award was given to Alyssa Morris of AEW Capital Management for her outstanding dedication to NAIOP’s growth. The 2025 Government Affairs Champion Award went to Paula Devereaux of Pierce Atwood LLP for her exceptional advocacy on behalf of the industry.

For the first time, NAIOP Massachusetts honored standout development projects with its Development of the Year Awards:

  • Urban Development of the Year: DUO, developed by John M. Corcoran & Co., Joseph J. Corcoran, and Marcus Partners

  • Suburban Development of the Year: The Newbury of Brookline, developed by The HYM Investment Group

  • Distinguished Development of the Year: Lyrik Back Bay, developed by Samuels & Associates, recognized as Boston’s first successful air-rights project in more than 40 years

Organization to Rebrand in 2026

Members also voted to rename the association Commercial Real Estate Development Association (CREDA) Massachusetts, a change that will take effect July 1, 2026, signaling a new chapter for the organization.
