Dorchester, MA – Lee Kennedy Company (LKCO) has announced the completion of the Patrick F. Cadigan ’52 Family Foundation Wellness Complex at Boston College High School (BC High), marking a major milestone in the school’s commitment to student health, wellness, and holistic education.

Designed by Eck | MacNeely Architects, the 42,000-square-foot facility sets a new standard for integrated wellness environments on academic campuses.

The two-story complex offers an array of high-performance spaces, including a 6,200-square-foot strength and conditioning area, a 3,700-square-foot cardio zone, and a 1,000-square-foot athletic training center. At the heart of the facility is an eight-lane, 25-meter Myrtha pool, featuring the company’s advanced Myrtha Breathe system, along with both 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards. Beyond athletics, the complex also includes flexible classrooms and a teaching kitchen, supporting BC High’s mission to promote lifelong wellness education.

Constructing such an advanced facility within an active school campus required exceptional coordination. The LKCO team meticulously planned and executed the project to ensure that daily school operations and nearby athletic activities continued uninterrupted.

A standout feature of the project was its innovative sequencing approach: the team fabricated the pool first, then constructed the surrounding building. This unique method enhanced quality control, improved efficiency, and made optimal use of the constrained site.

According to Dan Lebiedz, Project Executive at LKCO, the project’s success reflects the team’s collaborative spirit and dedication to excellence. The result is a transformative wellness complex designed to enrich student life and support the broader BC High community for years to come.

The Patrick F. Cadigan ’52 Family Foundation Wellness Complex now stands as a model for how thoughtful design and construction innovation can bring a school’s vision for health and well-being to life.
