Portsmouth, NH— Lark, the New England-based boutique hotel development and management company, announced it will debut four new Lark Hotels properties in 2026, marking a major expansion of its premier lifestyle brand. The upcoming openings include Cambridge Common House in Cambridge, Mass.; The Drew Hotel in Plymouth, Mass.; Shore Haven in Falmouth, Mass.; and The Penny Lane in Hampton Bays, New York.
“2026 will be a banner year for Lark,” said Rob Blood, Founder and Chairman of Lark. “From a historic lodging house in Cambridge to a sustainable, oceanfront hotel in the Hamptons, these openings speak to the ethos of our company. They’re character-rich properties with independent spirit and the warm, customized service Lark is known for.”
Cambridge Common House will open in early spring 2026 just outside Harvard Square, offering 16 uniquely designed rooms by Elder & Ash and a lower-level lounge serving breakfast, coffee, and refreshments throughout the day.
The Drew Hotel in Plymouth, Massachusetts, will occupy a fully renovated historic building in downtown Plymouth. The 25-room property, opening in spring, takes its name from John Drew Sr., an English settler who arrived in the town in 1660. Guests will be steps away from Plymouth Harbor.
Shore Haven in Falmouth, Mass., formerly the Beach Breeze Inn, will debut after a major redesign in spring 2026. The 21-room boutique hotel sits on the former site of the Falmouth Glass Factory, within walking distance of the beach, and features an outdoor pool and multiple lounge areas.
The Penny Lane in Hampton Bays, New York, formerly The Drake Inn, will open its doors following a complete renovation. The 18-room property emphasizes sustainability with no single-use plastics and solar energy. Amenities include a pool, waterfront access with boat slips, and pet-friendly accommodations.
These openings follow several recent additions to Lark’s portfolio, including The Vietta Hotel in Kissimmee, Florida, and The Painted Lady in Birmingham, Alabama. Lark’s recent acquisitions also include 907 Main in Cambridge, reopened quickly after Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy filed for bankruptcy.
In 2025, seven Lark properties earned Michelin Keys from the Michelin Guide, recognizing excellence in boutique accommodations. Notable recent openings include The Bow Hotel in Portsmouth, NH, and AWOL Stowe in Vermont, featuring outdoor Nordic spa decks and A-frame cabins.
Lark operates approximately 75 independent boutique properties across North America under brands including Lark Hotels, Bluebird by Lark, Blind Tiger Guest Houses, AWOL, and Life House, offering immersive local experiences, thoughtful design, and personalized service.
