BOSTON– In a major move to strengthen its nationwide property management operations, KCG Companies of Indianapolis has selected WinnResidential, one of the nation’s premier multifamily property managers, to oversee more than 4,000 apartment homes across its growing portfolio.

The agreement brings 28 communities in eight states under WinnResidential’s management, totaling 4,147 rental units, the companies announced today. The collaboration officially began on July 1, following a two-month onboarding process that successfully integrated 83 team members from KCG’s existing on-site teams into the WinnResidential organization — ensuring a seamless transition and job continuity for frontline staff.

“We are already seeing positive results from the WinnResidential team in terms of efficiently managing daily operations and leasing income-restricted apartments,” said R.J. Pasquesi, President & CEO of KCG Companies. “Knowing that our property management is in the hands of proven experts is already empowering our company to focus on what it does best – pursuing opportunities to create more affordable housing.”

Founded in 2015, KCG Companies has built a reputation as a mission-driven developer specializing in affordable and workforce housing. The company focuses on long-term ownership and sustainable community development, blending social impact with profitability — a model that has earned it national recognition.

WinnResidential, the property management arm of WinnCompanies, brings decades of experience managing diverse portfolios, with a strong emphasis on affordable, mixed-income, and workforce housing. The firm currently manages more than 100,000 units nationwide.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring immediate value to KCG’s impressive development portfolio,” said Patrick Appleby, President of WinnResidential. “We understand what it takes to manage sustainable communities that deliver long-term value for ownership and a high quality of life for residents.”

KCG’s broader portfolio includes more than 34 communities in nine states, including properties under construction. The retained properties are located in Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin, and include a mix of new construction, acquisition-rehab, and adaptive reuse developments.

As part of the new partnership, additional communities are expected to be added to WinnResidential’s management portfolio over the next 12 months, as KCG continues to expand its footprint in underserved markets.

The partnership underscores a growing trend in the multifamily industry: mission-aligned developers and property managers joining forces to deliver operational excellence while preserving affordability and fostering community.
