BOSTON— Michael Smith, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company’s Boston office, announced the strategic hiring of Jim Nicoletti.
Effective immediately, Nicoletti, a 30-year-plus industry veteran, becomes an Executive Vice-President in the firm’s Boston office. He will continue to service both tenants and landlords in the Cambridge and Route 128 markets. Nicoletti most recently served as Executive Vice-President at NAI Hunneman in Boston.

Over the length of his career, Nicoletti has been named Commercial Broker of the Year (2004) by his peers in the Commercial Brokers Association (CBA)/Greater Boston Real Estate Board, National Broker of the Year (2000) by Insignia/ESG, and Broker of the Year (1994) by Lynch, Murphy, Walsh & Partners.
He has previously served as President of the CBA and President of the New England Chapter of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR). Nicoletti is a graduate of Boston College, where he received Master’s and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English literature. He is a past board member of Boston College High School, the Rivers School and Phoenix Charter Academy.
Over the past seven and a half years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 79 offices and from 300 to more than 2,400 real estate professionals in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Europe.
