BOSTON – The Langham Boston announced that, beginning in April 2019, the hotel will undergo an extensive renovation to reinstate and re-position the property as one of the top iconic historic hotels in the country.

This extensive project will include a complete renovation of all guest rooms, function spaces and public areas and will coincide with a similar renovation being conducted by One Post Office Square, the building that is attached to The Langham. During this renovation, The Langham will be closed, beginning on April 1 for approximately one year.

“We are very excited about what the future holds for The Langham, Boston,” said Richard Bussiere, managing director. “This renovation will highlight the architectural grandeur of this iconic building, which has a robust history within the city of Boston. When it is completed, we will be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that The Langham is one of the very best luxury hotels in the United States.”

The renovation will affect the entire hotel, beginning with BOND, The Langham’s destination bar and lounge, which will close starting on December 1, 2018. The rest of the hotel will continue to operate until March 31, 2019, after which the hotel will close for approximately one year.

The interior design, executed by Richmond International who also did the interiors of The Langham, London and The Langham, Chicago, will reflect the rich history of The Langham, which was once the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and will highlight the unique architectural elements of the building. New guest rooms and suites, updated event and function spaces, and innovative food and beverage concepts will all be introduced when the hotel re-opens in 2020.
