BOSTON — Groom Construction Co., Inc., a premier general contracting firm, announced the appointment of Kevin Pessolano, P.E. as Chief Operating Officer – Retail, further strengthening the firm’s leadership team as it continues to expand its national retail construction platform.
In his new role, Pessolano will oversee Groom Construction’s retail operations nationwide, with responsibility for risk management, financial oversight, leadership development, and technology-driven process improvement. His focus will support disciplined growth and consistent execution across the firm’s retail portfolio while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client service.
Pessolano brings more than 25 years of experience in construction management and operations leadership, with a background spanning retail, commercial, life science, and mixed-use projects. His portfolio includes fast-track retail renovations, large-scale ground-up developments, and complex projects delivered in challenging market environments. Throughout his career, he has built and led high-performing teams and implemented scalable operational systems to support long-term growth.
Most recently, Pessolano served as Project Executive in the Strategic Projects Group at Commodore Builders, where he led one of the firm’s most profitable operating groups despite difficult market conditions. His prior experience also includes senior leadership roles at Coffey Design Build, as well as earlier roles at Groom Construction, giving him a deep understanding of the firm’s culture, values, and approach to project delivery.

As COO – Retail, Pessolano will focus on expanding Groom Construction’s national retail programs, enhancing operational consistency, strengthening safety and compliance initiatives, and supporting long-term strategic growth with key clients. His experience managing multi-site retail portfolios for national brands and financial institutions positions Groom to continue scaling its retail services while maintaining its commitment to craftsmanship and reliability.

Pessolano holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Union College and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering – Construction Management from Northeastern University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer, OSHA-certified, and LEAN CM certified.
