BOSTON – Groom Construction has announced the appointment of Brett Standish as Senior Superintendent, further strengthening the company’s field leadership team and enhancing its project execution capabilities.

Standish brings more than 20 years of construction management experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects across the healthcare, life science, higher education, residential, and mixed-use sectors. Over the course of his career, he has overseen construction efforts ranging from $1 million renovations to large-scale developments valued at $850 million. His experience includes managing projects within highly sensitive, occupied environments where safety, coordination, and strict schedule control are paramount.

Prior to joining Groom Construction, Standish served in superintendent roles with several highly regarded general contractors throughout the region. He contributed to some of the area’s most high-profile and technically demanding projects, including major healthcare and research facilities such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Mt. Auburn Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ Fan Pier campus. His portfolio also includes large-scale academic and residential developments, including Harvard University’s Allston Science Complex and numerous multifamily communities across Massachusetts.

“Brett Standish is an accomplished field leader with deep experience managing complex projects and large trade teams,” said Graeme Poole, Chief Operating Officer of Groom Construction. “His steady leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality will make him an excellent fit for Groom and a strong asset to our clients.”

In his role as Senior Superintendent, Standish will oversee on-site construction operations, coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, maintain schedule performance, and ensure successful project execution from mobilization through closeout. He is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style and his ability to foster strong working relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and local authorities.

Standish studied Mechanical Engineering Technology at Northeastern University and holds an OSHA 30-hour certification and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL). He recently earned his Certified Passive House Builder (CPHB) designation, underscoring his commitment to high-performance building practices and ongoing professional development.

With Standish’s addition, Groom Construction continues to reinforce its commitment to delivering complex, high-quality projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, collaboration, and client service.
