Boston—Gilbane Building Company has announced the appointment of Laura Onessimo as Vice President of Business Development in its Boston office. In her new role, Onessimo will lead strategic growth initiatives in the advanced manufacturing, science, and technology sectors across Massachusetts and Northern New England.
Transitioning from her previous position as Vice President of Global Marketing, Onessimo brings extensive experience and a proven track record to this regional leadership role. Since joining Gilbane in 2017, she has held multiple business development and marketing positions, including New England Marketing Director. Her promotion highlights Gilbane’s strategic focus on deepening its presence in high-growth sectors critical to the region’s economic development.
“Laura has been instrumental in elevating Gilbane’s brand and market presence across New England and beyond,” said Justin MacEachern, Gilbane’s Business Leader for Massachusetts and Northern New England.

As Vice President of Business Development, Onessimo will focus on identifying and expanding opportunities in the life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and technology sectors—industries where Gilbane has a strong national footprint and growing local demand.
“I’m honored to take on this new opportunity and help shape the future of Gilbane’s work in some of the most exciting and transformative industries,” said Onessimo. “We have an incredible team, and I’m energized by the opportunity to contribute to our continued growth and delivering high-performance solutions across the region.”
