BOSTON— The Boston law firm of Foley Hoag LLP is embarking on an ambitious and strategic redesign of its Boston offices at 155 Seaport Boulevard. Pioneering tenants in the Seaport District since 2002, the firm will remain rooted in the heart of the energetic neighborhood through 2037 with a new 15-year lease.

Elkus Manfredi Architects has been engaged to help the firm continue to thrive in its workspace with an elegant design that incorporates state-of the-art technology, client-focused meeting places, and more daylight across all workplaces.

“Elkus Manfredi has earned a national reputation for designing state of the art workspaces that inspire creativity, generate enthusiasm and meaning in workplaces, and energize spirits,” says Tom Block, Chief Operating Officer at Foley Hoag. “We look forward to working together to develop a space that fuels our strong, service-oriented approach of the clients we serve and delivers the optimal quality of life for our employees.”

From offices in Boston, Washington, D.C., New York and Paris, Foley Hoag represents clients in industries such as life sciences, health care, technology, and intellectual property and sovereign governments around the world. They are known for their ability to anticipate trends, both in the law and in their clients’ industries, while remaining true to the practice of traditional lawyering.

Their innovative, client-focused approach comes through in their vision for the new workplace, which will include the latest in technology, space efficiencies and adjacencies, and amenities. Foley Hoag is prioritizing the creation of a robust, centralized conference center, fully-equipped with the latest audiovisual capabilities and a variety of flexible spaces which will provide comfortable meeting places for their team in Boston and will enable them to better serve their clients around the globe.

To help Foley Hoag achieve its vision, Elkus Manfredi will draw upon its signature cross-industry design approach, combining features of such diverse project types as hospitality, residential, and hi-tech design with its extensive experience in designing for large law practices. The new design will provide an inspiring and timeless workplace where employees are able to work comfortably and efficiently. Adjacencies will be carefully considered to establish the most effective use of the space; technology will be seamlessly integrated to support varied modes of working; and access to daylight will be carefully balanced with the need for privacy. When complete, the new office will occupy 165,000 square feet on five floors.

“Foley Hoag is a true leader in its field. They work with the best and brightest in the innovation economy of Boston and around the world,” says Elizabeth Lowrey, Principal and Director of Interior Architecture at Elkus Manfredi. “We’re excited to do our part to support today’s innovators and the entrepreneurial spirit of Boston by helping Foley Hoag support its bright, hard-working, and attentive staff. Foley Hoag’s leaders are wonderful, thoughtful collaborators, and together we are creating a dynamic, modern, timeless, and elegant workplace that will support their important work in service of their clients for many, many years to come.”
