RAYNHAM, MA–DJSA Architecture announced the naming of John Kinney of North Attleboro, MA to the position of BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager.

BIM is a highly collaborative process that allows multiple stakeholders and AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) professionals to collaborate on the planning, design, and construction of a building within one 3D model.

He served in a similar capacity at Integrata Architecture in Falmouth, MA prior to joining DJSA. His additional industry experience includes serving as Job Captain at Ellenzweig, an architectural firm in Harvard Square, Cambridge and downtown Boston. While there, his duties included preparation of working drawings from design development phase to construction phase for a number of projects, including pharmaceutical laboratories.  He also served on the Revit (building model software) Standards Committee.

After studying at Roger Williams College, he completed his architectural studies at Boston Architectural College. His first position post-college was with Sullivan Design in Braintree, MA. In addition to other positions he held in the field of architecture, he was also a Senior Production Specialist for Talbots.

Kinney brings significant background in the application of Revit and other building model software to the field.

The Brockton, MA native enjoys watercolor painting in his spare time. His areas of interest include seascapes, landscapes, and boats. This has been a favorite pastime of his since he was 17.
