CREW Boston: Helping Women in Commercial Real Estate Advance and Succeed with Approximately 75 Events Each Year

BOSTON–Since its inception in 1982, CREW Boston, formerly New England Women in Real Estate, has played a pivotal role in promoting the advancement of women within the male-dominated commercial real estate industry.

On March 12, 2025, CREW Boston will be honored as the most vibrant non-profit organization advancing women in commercial real estate at the annual Outstanding Women of 2025 award gala at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.

Currently, more than 600 women gain opportunities for professional growth and business development as its members. CREW Boston’s goal is to provide professional support, development, education, encouragement and networking opportunities to its members and to the Greater Boston real estate community.

Year after year, CREW Boston has succeeded in attracting an extraordinary roster of key industry speakers to address its programs, seminars and special events. Largely open to the public, CREW Boston functions keep members up to date on topical real estate issues and changing industry demands. CREW Boston’s 17 standing committees and networking groups also give members a chance to engage in stimulating discussions with colleagues from various market sectors.

Boston Real Estate Times: How many members as of now in Boston?

Laura Domenico: CREW Boston currently has 679 members.

BRET: What are some of the key annual events?

LD: Each year we host seven lunch programs featuring CRE leaders discussing a particular development project or industry trend as well as numerous smaller events that focus on leadership training, professional development, networking and building business relationships.

Our Annual Achievement Awards program honors the professional achievements of our members and those members who embody the spirit of CREW Boston either individually, or through their participation in our mentorship program or leadership academy. We also host a charity golf tournament each fall which provides an opportunity for members and guest to network while raising money for the CREW Boston Education Foundation.

BRET: What is the mission of the CREW Boston Education Foundation?

LD: The Foundation awards scholarships to female students currently enrolled in sophomore, junior, or senior year or a graduate program at an accredited college or university in New England with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the commercial real estate industry.

BRET: Approximately, how many events are organized by CREW Boston per year?

LD: We host approximately 75 events a year with event attendance ranging from 5 – 300+ professionals.
