BOSTON — Commercial real estate professionals will have an opportunity to learn how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into everyday work during an interactive workshop scheduled for Sept. 11 at Allsteel in Boston.
The half-day program, “Leading with AI: From Foundations to Real World Applications,” will be hosted by the Commercial Real Estate Development Association and led by instructors Kevin Gulley and Brendon McSheffrey of The Kendall Project.
The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Allsteel, 200 State Street, and is designed specifically for commercial real estate professionals seeking a practical understanding of AI and how it can support their roles.
Rather than focusing on a particular AI product or platform, the session will begin with the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including what AI is, how it works and why the quality and relevance of its outputs depend heavily on the information and context provided to it.
The instructors will then move into real-world applications, with a focus on helping participants develop skills they can use across different AI tools and platforms.
Topics will include how to write more precise prompts, define a user’s role and responsibilities for AI, provide the context necessary to produce better results, and teach AI an organization’s rules, standards and terminology.
The workshop will also explore how professionals can move beyond one-off prompts to create repeatable AI systems that can be incorporated into their daily workflows.
Organizers say the goal is to provide participants with a framework that can remain useful regardless of which AI platform or technology their firms ultimately adopt.
From Individual Tools to Teamwide Systems
A central theme of the workshop will be moving AI from an individual productivity tool to a resource that can support broader teams and organizations.
