BOSTON – Colliers International recently announced that it advised global information services organization, Wolters Kluwer, in an approximately 20,000-square-foot expansion of its existing office space at 230 CityPoint in Waltham, bringing its total footprint to over 132,000 square feet.
Led by Colliers Boston’s Vice Chair James Elcock, Executive Vice President John Carroll III and Senior Vice President Bill Lynch, alongside Colliers New York’s Vice Chairman Mark Friedman, Wolters Kluwer’s need for additional space was prompted by the success and subsequent growth of Wolters Kluwer Health division’s UpToDate, Inc., a software system providing point-of-care medical and evidence-based clinical resource solutions.
“Wolters has been incredibly happy with its experience at 230 CityPoint to date and specifically with landlord, Boston Properties,” noted Elcock. “In signing their initial lease back in 2014, Wolters selected Boston Properties as a partner knowing they were committed to accommodating growth throughout the term, so BP’s support in this latest expansion did not disappoint.”
Despite limited vacancy in the building, Colliers and Boston Properties were able to identify a creative solution allowing the UpToDate group to backfill space soon to be vacated by Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton PC.
“It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement for Wolters and Boston Properties,” added Carroll. “Wolters is excited to continue its growth trajectory in a building and area supported by first-class amenities essential to its employee recruitment and retention initiatives.”
