NEW YORK–McCourt Global (MG), an alternative asset management firm, announced that Christopher Keber has been named Head of Investments and Strategy.

In this newly created position, Keber will lead the firm’s investment strategy, focusing on the growth and sustainability of MG’s global business, and will report to Drew McCourt, President.

Keber previously served as Senior Managing Director at Hines Interests L.P., a private firm with $100 billion of assets under management, for nearly five years. In this role, he was responsible for worldwide capital formation and fund-raising, investor relations and managing many enterprise-level special situations.

I’m extremely pleased to welcome Chris to our executive team,” said Drew McCourt. “Chris brings global perspectives, relationships, experiences and insights — as well as a deep understanding of capital markets and real estate — that will add depth and breadth to our leadership as we pursue new opportunities.”

This was an easy decision to make,” said Chris Keber. “I have known and respected Drew and Frank for many years, and joining McCourt Global is a perfect step for the next phase in my professional life. It is clear that MG is an entrepreneurial organization that operates at an institutional scale. I believe this firm has extraordinary growth potential as a global investing platform. In my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an investment manager in multiple capacities, and I’m now looking forward to acting alongside my MG colleagues as a direct investor in attractive opportunities around the world.”

Prior to Hines, Keber led Starwood Capital Group’s global capital raising and investor relations, during which Starwood raised billions of dollars for new investment vehicles and co-investments for energy and real estate from global investors. Before that, he worked in New York at Credit Suisse in its Real Estate Private Funds Group.

Beyond his professional activities, Keber is deeply committed to charitable projects. He volunteered for two years on the island of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia, where he served as a teacher, and later Principal, of a 300-student elementary school.

Keber holds an M.B.A. in Real Estate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he currently serves on the school’s Board of Visitors, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Georgetown University. He also studied at the U.K.’s Edinburgh University, where he was a member of its basketball team.
