BOSTON – Catalano Architects welcomes two design professionals to the firm; Alex Catalano, RA, an emerging architect from New York City-based Morris Adjmi Architects (MA); and Lauren Cincotta, a recent graduate of the architecture program at Roger Williams.

“The addition of Alex and Lauren comes at a time of exciting growth for the firm,” says Tom Catalano, founder and principal of Catalano Architects. “We’re interested in being opportunistic, and the best way to do that is with exceptional talent, that has a dedication and emphasis on quality design and creating a remarkable client journey. This commitment is furthered by Alex and Lauren’s shared belief that thoughtful design enlivens our collective experience and transcends a lifetime. We are excited to support and mentor this next generation, and work collaboratively on the advancement of the firm’s mission.”

A 2015 graduate of Pratt Institute School of Architecture, Alex Catalano began his professional career with the award-winning firm MA. His portfolio includes large scale residential and commercial developments including 363 Lafayette, a 43,000 square foot 10-story tower in NoHo and 360 Bowery, 21-stories of full-floor luxury office suites. A registered architect, Alex will leverage his commercial knowledge while expanding his expertise in the private residential sector – he indicates his excitement about long-term growth with the firm, “I’m interested in integrating new technologies and contemporary material practices into the work in order to harmonize the places the firm designs with the people that occupy them. As instilled by Pratt, I theorize about what architecture can become and how I can turn those forward-thinking ideas into reality in the studio.”

Lauren received her Masters of Architecture from Roger Williams in 2021. A member of Tau Sigma Delta Honors Society – a distinction for students with high scholastic standing in their field, AIAS Chapter Treasurer, and on Deans List throughout the entirety of her studies, she achieved academic excellence while maintaining a personal well-roundedness. In the field, Lauren operates with a high level of confidence and skill – approaching the intricacies of traditional residential design with strategic thinking and clear communication to create personally detailed homes.

“Alex and Lauren bring a fresh mindset and infectious enthusiasm to the studio,” says Kerri Byrne Associate at Catalano Architects. Senior Associate, Garrett Avery and Associate, Elena Stancheva agree: “Their contribution to the team puts Catalano Architects in a prime position to execute innovate practices, expand design capabilities, and broaden the portfolio – stylistically and geographically, all while upholding the firm’s high standards of skill and craftmanship.”

Established in 1987, Catalano Architects is a boutique residential architecture firm in Boston, MA. Thorough understanding of the history of American domestic architecture fuels and informs the firm’s exceptionally high standards—allowing the team to discover and define the details that lead to timeless, remarkable design.
