BOSTON–Cambria Boston, an upscale hotel brand from Choice Hotels International, Inc. is Massachusetts’ very first Cambria Hotel and only hotel to open in the heart of South Boston.

Designed for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel’s defining amenity is its location paired with modern accommodations and destination-worthy food and beverage outlets, including a seasonal roof deck with expansive city views.

Offering both proximity to the city and a distinctive sense of place, Cambria Boston is located just over the Broadway Bridge at the gateway to one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods. Just minutes away from downtown, South Boston or “Southie” is known for its strong Irish heritage, youthful, energy-driven array of locally-owned shops, restaurants and nightlife options, and easy access to the Boston waterfront and adjoining Seaport, South End and Fort Point neighborhoods.

The hotel was developed by City Point Capital, an experienced real estate investor that has developed and designed numerous commercial and residential properties throughout the Greater Boston area. The hotel will be managed by hospitality group Meyer Jabara Hotels with General Manger Bernardo Gubert at the helm.

“Boston is our hometown, so it was important that the hotel reflect the heart and soul of the neighborhood,” said Ryan Sillery, principal and owner, City Point Capital. “We’re proud that the Cambria Boston Downtown manages to convey a genuine ‘Southie’ experience while embracing the area’s innovative future—and thrilled to work with Choice to bring this hotel to life.”

Guest Rooms

Guests at Cambria can expect a distinct, upscale experience that makes every stay feel like an upgrade with contemporary essentials and approachable indulgences. The 159 modern guest rooms were intentionally designed for today’s business and leisure travelers with an emphasis on tailored touches and design considerations paying homage to Boston’s history. Every room offers unique lighting, device recharge capabilities and an immersive spa-like bathroom with Bluetooth mirrors. In-room amenities include a refrigerator, work area, Flat-screen TV, and Pure by Gloss bath products. Literary references are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the rooms and serve as a nod to the city’s prominent literary past and today’s rich spirit of academia.

The guest rooms also include five Junior Suites (private king bedroom, living room with sofa bed) and three Suites offering an assortment of living, dining and corporate meeting options for families or groups that need additional space to stretch out.

Six \ West

Six \ West is the moniker representing the food and beverage offerings at the Cambria Boston Hotel. On the ground floor, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and all-day light bites in an intimate setting, offering both indoor and seasonally appropriate outdoor seating. A focus on healthy options permeates the menu, from breakfast (One Mighty Mills stone ground bagels, Intelligentsia coffee, avocado toast, fresh cold pressed juices), to lunch and dinner (Short Rib Tacos, Ahi Tuna Flatbread). A well-curated wine list, local craft beers, and scratch-made cocktails round out the ground floor experience.

Southie’s Only Rooftop Experience

The spacious Rooftop at Six \ West spans 4,000 square feet and features a dramatic, overhanging wood canopy to cover up to 240 guests enjoying the unique-in-Southie spot for dining, drinking and lounging during the warm summer months. An accessible, fun and playful menu of shareable dishes features “global meets grocery store” influences, including: Popcorn (aged pecorino, duck fat butter, hot sauce); Magical Mushrooms (fried exotic mushrooms, linguica, truffle powder); and Seared Foie Gras (Captain Crunch French toast, bourbon maple syrup).

City Inspired Design

As Cambria’s first Boston property, RODE architects drew inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood and the natural beauty of New England. Irregular lines and geometric shapes throughout the hotel spotlighting the surrounding urban bustle pulls from the irregular street grid that the hotel sits. The interior offers a simple, soothing palette of light and shadow, black and white, that contrasts with the property’s hyper-urban location. Floor to ceiling glass paneling throughout the hotel’s main space, along with an expansive rooftop bar and lounge with expansive views of the city, further highlights the dramatic cityscape.  The architectural language of neighboring Fort Point is reflected by textures of brick and wood throughout the property. These materials serve as an additional link to the hotel’s surrounding community and nature-inspired aesthetic.

In collaboration with London-based artists Simon Heijdens, an installation entitled Lightweeds consisting of light-projected tree-forms offers guests a means to engage with a moving, interactive experience of New England’s four seasons.
