HUDSON, MA– Calare Properties, a private Massachusetts-based real estate investment firm and operator, commemorated the groundbreaking of MACOM Technology Solutions Inc.’s new global headquarters on Chelmsford St. in Lowell, MA.
The state-of-the-art property will join MACOM’s current R&D and manufacturing facilities, at 100 Chelmsford St. and 121 Hale St., to create a world-class corporate campus environment owned and developed by Calare Properties.
Following Calare’s acquisition of 100 Chelmsford St. earlier this year, the firm has partnered with MACOM, a leading supplier of high-performance analog RF, microwave, millimeterwave, photonic semiconductor products and components, to develop the adjacent property at 144 Chelmsford St. with a goal of establishing a cohesive and engaging corporate campus setting on the 15-acre site where MACOM has secured a 20-year lease for the entire campus. The new 58,000 sf Class A office building is anticipated for a 2018 delivery and will feature a sleek, modern design with high-end finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows enhancing natural light. With the development of this new property, MACOM and Calare plan to collaborate to remodel the current manufacturing facilities.
“As owner and developer of this dynamic site, Calare is thrilled to help write the next chapter of MACOM’s success at this flagship property and support the company’s vision in establishing a premier corporate campus setting that unifies modern office, manufacturing and R&D space in a creative manner,” said Bill Manley, CEO and CIO of Calare. “The delivery of a world-class facility such as 144 Chelmsford is a notable step forward for this flourishing market where existing manufacturing and industrial space has been limited.”
The MACOM business has been based at 100 Chelmsford for over 25 years, and MACOM has leased the adjacent property at 121 Hale Street, which is also owned by Calare, for the past three years. The company is a leading supplier of high-performance analog RF, microwave, millimeterwave and photonic semiconductor products that enable next-generation Internet and modern battlefield applications. A pillar of the semiconductor industry, the company thrives on more than 60 years of expertise in complex problem-solving for applications ranging from RF to Light.
“MACOM is collaborating with Calare to expand and modernize our global headquarters here in Lowell,” said Robert Dennehy, Senior Vice President of Operations at MACOM. “Our goal with this expansion is to attract people who are committed to inclusion, industry and innovation, and with Calare’s insight, our global headquarters will mirror that goal.”
