BROOKLINE, MA – Joan Matera has joined Brookline Bank as Vice President in the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Banking Division. Matera brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate banking and investment experience to Brookline Bank.
She previously held positions building and managing commercial real estate portfolios at major New York City financial services firms. Matera will be based at Brookline Bank’s Boston, Massachusetts headquarters.

In previous positions, Matera managed multi-billion dollar commercial debt portfolios for Fortune 50 companies. She has held leadership roles involving originations, underwriting, relationship management and ongoing management of debt and equity investments.
Matera, a resident of Boston, received her B.A. in Psychology from Notre Dame of Maryland University and MBA from Rutgers University. She is an active council member of the Urban Land Institute and has been involved with numerous organizations, including the WX, Inc. NYC, where she served on the Membership Committee.
