BOSTON—Boston Real Estate Times, one of New England’s largest digital, video and print real estate publications, today announced that it will honor Bill McCall, president of McCall & Almy, with the “Broker of the Brokers” and “Lifetime Achievement” award on Aug. 6 at its annual Award Summit at Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA.

Mr. McCall, whose name heads Boston’s two major real estate companies, has not only dedicated 53 years of his life to commercial real estate, but also has served the community well. He is a trustee of the Dana-Farber Cancer Research Institute and serves as Chairman of the Board at the Norman B. Leventhal/Post Office Square Park & Garage. He founded Boston-based McCall & Almy in 1990 and Leggat McCall Properties in 1965.

“Mr. McCall has been given many titles and awards, but his most prestigious award is his own last name, which evokes the best of the best in real estate services and a life dedicated to the industry,” said Upendra Mishra, publisher of the Boston Real Estate Times. “I personally have been following Mr. McCall’s journey since 1993, and we are so excited that finally we will get a chance to honor a Boston real estate legend: Bill McCall.”

On Aug. 6, Boston Real Estate Times will also honor William McQuillan as its 2019 Person of the Year. Mr. McQuillan is the founding principal of Boylston Properties, and has dedicated 40 years to developing real estate in Greater Boston. The 2019 winners in other categories will be announced soon.

“What he loves about real estate and imparts to the company is a sense of entrepreneurialism. This probably all stems from being a Navy fighter pilot for three years where he learned persistence and dedication no matter what situation you encounter,” his colleagues say about Mr. McCall on the company website. “Bill’s known for being bullish about the market, and he’s not afraid to take risks, having founded two successful real estate companies in his career.”

Prior to founding McCall & Almy in 1990 and Leggat McCall Properties in 1965, Mr. McCall served as Vice President at Nordblom Company from 1961 to 1965. Prior to that, he was in US Navy. He was awarded the 1996 CBA Broker of the Year in 1996. He holds B.A. in Economics from College of Holy Cross.
