Barkan Management Hires Two Senior Executives: Bart Steele as Portfolio Manager and Erin Horan as Human Resources Manager

BOSTON–Barkan Management Company, a residential property management firm with 174 properties under management in seven states, announced that it has hired two senior executives: Bart Steele, CMCA, AMS, as Portfolio Manager and Erin Horan as Human Resources Manager.

Steele is based in the Boston office and will oversee an initial portfolio comprised of four residential condominium communities, all in Boston:  14 West Broadway, The Penmark Condominiums, The Hill Condominiums, and Back of the Hill Townhouses. Additionally, Steele manages the commercial offices at Chestnut Hill Medical Center in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Steele comes to Barkan with a solid track record of experience in the property management industry. While at Premier Property Solutions LLC, he was Assistant Vice President and, prior to that, a Senior Regional Property Manager. He has also worked as a Construction Manager and Real Estate Agent.

Barkan Management also named Erin Horan as Human Resources Manager.

Horan brings more than 18 years of experience in the field. Most recently, she was a Human Resources Business Partner with Boston-based Ironshore Services, Inc. Prior to that, she worked for American International Group in Lexington, MA and Lucent Technologies in Cambridge, MA. She is a 1998 graduate of Emmanuel College, Boston, MA.

“Erin is a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager who has already brought a spark of energy and new focus to our HR Group initiatives,” said Jim Merski, Chief Financial Officer at Barkan Management Company.
