Avison Young Taps Jay Johnson to Lead Expansion of U.S. Healthcare Real Estate Platform

CHICAGO, IL and ATLANTA, GA— In response to accelerating demand and transformation across the healthcare sector, global real estate advisor Avison Young has appointed Jay Johnson as Principal and Executive Managing Director of Healthcare Services, tasking him with leading the strategic growth of the firm’s healthcare business across the United States.

A recognized industry leader with more than 30 years of experience, Johnson will spearhead efforts to expand Avison Young’s healthcare client base, strengthen its national footprint, and enhance the global reach of its healthcare platform. He will be based in the firm’s Atlanta office and serve on Avison Young’s U.S. Executive Committee.

Johnson brings deep cross-disciplinary experience to the role, having held leadership positions at JLL, Transwestern, CBRE, and Ernst & Young. Most recently, he served as National Director of Healthcare Markets at JLL, advising a diverse set of healthcare occupiers—including hospitals and physician practices—as well as institutional investors such as REITs, private equity firms, and pension funds. His expertise spans brokerage, capital markets, development, valuation, consulting, and property management.
