Boston – Avison Young announced that seasoned life sciences engineering and facilities management expert Steven Lacerte has joined the company as a Principal in the Project Management Group.

Based in Avison Young’s Boston office, Lacerte will focus on managing projects in the life sciences sector, where he brings over 30 years of experience in the industry.

“The city of Boston is the global epicenter of the life sciences industry, with the concentration of top universities, teaching hospitals, NIH funding and private equity capital creating explosive growth in both research and manufacturing in Eastern Massachusetts,” said Tom Collins, Managing Director/Principal of the firm. “Adding Steven to our team helps us as we build out a best-in-class full-service platform to serve this significant market sector.”

Lacerte joins Avison Young from STV/DPM, a national engineering and owners project management firm, where he served as a Project Executive for life sciences clients. Throughout his career, Lacerte has developed a deep understanding of the business objectives of companies in the drug discovery, pharmaceutical and biotech industries in addition to procuring decades of managerial experience. As a leader in the facilities and engineering field, his expertise lies in delivering capital program and project management to ensure operational capabilities, facilities operation and real estate management and implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and environmental and safety requirements.

“I am very excited to join Avison Young and be a part of a company with such a strong culture of employee development, client satisfaction and investment in growth,” said Lacerte. “This role presented a great opportunity to apply my 30+ years of industry experience to further expand the life sciences sector by providing support to companies as they develop treatments and cures for patients.”
