BEVERLY, Mass.— American Surgical Company has relocated its international operations from Salem to Beverly, leasing a 20,325-square-foot headquarters at 100 Cummings Center.
The move marks a significant expansion for the global surgical tools manufacturer, which is currently transitioning employees from its former location at Shetland Park to the new facility.
Founded more than 35 years ago, American Surgical Company specializes in sustainably produced single-use surgical tools and specialty medical devices. All products are manufactured in the United States at the company’s Beverly headquarters and distributed worldwide to more than 70 countries across six continents.
The lease transaction was facilitated by Al Diamond, business development director at Cummings Properties, in collaboration with Joe Doyle and John Coakley, managing principals at Cresa.
“Cummings has a strong history of partnering with Cresa to meet the needs of the suburban business community,” Diamond said. “We were especially pleased to work with Joe and John, whose familiarity with our portfolio helped identify Cummings Center as an excellent fit for American Surgical’s operational and growth needs.”
Cummings Properties’ in-house design and construction teams completed a comprehensive buildout of the space, tailoring it to support American Surgical Company’s administrative offices, research and development operations, and shipping and storage functions.
“One of our strengths at Cummings is our ability to efficiently reinvent space for new uses,” Diamond added. “Our in-house construction expertise allows us to deliver customized, high-quality results with minimal lead time.”
At Cummings Center, American Surgical Company joins a large life sciences and healthcare cluster that includes Beth Israel Lahey Health Specialty Care, Northeast Hospital, MassBio, Hamilton Thorne, Hettich Instruments, Sciessent, and other organizations.
Cummings Properties’ Beverly holdings include Cummings Center—the largest office and research park on the North Shore—and Dunham Ridge, a 54-acre business, science, and technology campus located near Route 128 and the North Shore Music Theatre. Combined, the two campuses are home to more than 600 businesses spanning healthcare, corporate headquarters, software, research, and small enterprises.
American Surgical Company works closely with medical professionals worldwide to develop innovative solutions addressing the evolving needs of modern surgical procedures.
