Security systems company leases 7,740-square-foot office and warehouse on Gill Street

WOBURN, Mass. — American Alarm and Communications has expanded its New England operations with a new 7,740-square-foot office and warehouse facility on Gill Street in Woburn.

The Arlington-based security systems integration and monitoring company now has 10 locations across New England. Founded in 1971, American Alarm provides intrusion detection, fire protection, access control, video surveillance, environmental hazard systems and related security services for commercial and residential properties.

The company selected the Woburn facility after outgrowing its local locations and needing additional space on a short timeline, according to Mike Truesdale, senior leasing director at Cummings Properties.

“American Alarm had outgrown its local facilities and needed an operational location on a tight timeline,” Truesdale said. “Because of the scale and flexibility of our portfolio, we were able to quickly identify a conveniently located space and customize it for delivery within days of the lease execution.”

Truesdale negotiated the lease with James Lipscomb of JLL.

The combination of office and warehouse space was an important factor in the company’s decision, according to Truesdale. The arrangement provides American Alarm with space for both administrative operations and its field-related needs.

“For companies with both administrative and operational needs, a full-service lease can eliminate the complexity of managing multiple properties or coordinating with multiple vendors,” Truesdale said. “Our in-house teams handle everything from design and construction to ongoing property management, allowing clients to focus on their businesses.”

American Alarm’s new location places it within a cluster of technology and advanced manufacturing companies on Gill Street. Other businesses in the area include Boston Metal, Boston Solar Company, Daqus Energy, Mitsubishi Electric, RL Controls, VEIR and Verdox.
