BOSTON–On Friday, November 3, the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) of the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) spent its annual CLC Service Day at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester.

Team members from MA-based construction firms and subcontractors made needed improvements to the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Marr Clubhouse (1135 Dorchester Avenue) and McLaughlin Center (35 Deer Street). Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester President and CEO Bob Scannell and MA State Representative and Dorchester native Dan Hunt welcomed volunteers.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester has long provided a much-needed safe space for area young people, for learning, creating, exploring, and building community. As a non-profit institution, its budget often leaves little room for facility maintenance,” says AGC MA CEO John Ferrante. “AGC MA’s Construction Leadership Council was honored to ensure that the Boys & Girls Clubs will continue their important work in the well-maintained surroundings they deserve.”

The scope of work on CLC Service Day included replacing floors and ceiling tiles, painting, installing new lighting and electrical systems, installing alarms, building a dumpster enclosure, replacing doors, providing HVAC filter servicing, refinishing a wood deck and stairs, elevator maintenance, installing new fans, and exterior cleanup.

Among the firms participating in this year’s CLC Service Day were Bond Building, Columbia, Commodore Builders, Dellbrook|JKS, Elaine Construction, Lee Kennedy Company, MLM, Sea-Dar, Skanska, TG Gallagher Mechanical Contractors, Turner Construction Co., and Walsh Brothers. Participating subcontractors include A Murphy Electric, APC Construction, Cheviot Corporation, Hennigar Door, and Lighthouse Electrical Contracting Inc.
