BURLINGTON, Mass. — A video presented during the Boston Real Estate Times 2026 Excellence Awards Gala highlights the career and accomplishments of Young K. Park, founder and president of Berkeley Investments and CEO of the newly formed Berkeley Garbe joint venture.
Park received the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Sept. 24 ceremony, recognizing over three decades of work in New England real estate and his role in reshaping underutilized properties and urban neighborhoods across Greater Boston.

Founded in 1991, Berkeley Investments has developed a portfolio spanning life sciences, laboratory and research space, flexible and R&D facilities, multifamily housing, office, mixed-use and commercial properties.
Among Park’s most notable projects is the redevelopment of Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, where Berkeley acquired a collection of historic industrial properties beginning in 2004 and helped transform the area through adaptive reuse, residential development, office space, restaurants and retail.
The company’s redevelopment of the historic Waltham Watch Factory similarly combined office, residential and retail uses within a restored mill complex.
Park has also been involved in projects supporting Greater Boston’s growing life sciences and clean-technology sectors. Berkeley’s redevelopment of 64 Pleasant Street in Watertown converted a historic mill building into laboratory and research space. The property later hosted the announcement of Massachusetts’ Climate Tech Initiative by Gov. Maura Healey.
In Malden, Berkeley’s Exchange 200 has emerged as a destination for clean technology, advanced manufacturing and research companies. In Billerica, Berkeley Garbe is developing a 150,000-square-foot Flex/R&D building at 161 Concord Road.
Park’s current projects include 176 Lincoln Street in Allston, a planned mixed-use innovation district exceeding 1 million square feet that is designed to combine housing, laboratory-ready office space, retail, arts and publicly accessible open space.
The award comes during a new chapter for Berkeley. In June, Berkeley announced a strategic joint venture with Germany-based GARBE, creating Berkeley Garbe LLC to pursue industrial, multifamily, infrastructure and mixed-use investments across the Northeastern United States.
Park’s background combines real estate development with architecture and urban planning. He earned a degree in Urban Studies from MIT and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Beyond his work in real estate, Park has held leadership and board positions with organizations including NAIOP Massachusetts, A Better City, Beth Israel Lahey Health, MIT’s Department of Architecture and Roger Williams University’s real estate program.
The video shown at the awards ceremony captures the evolution of Park’s career, from Berkeley’s early development work to its growing portfolio of projects supporting housing, innovation, research and neighborhood revitalization across Greater Boston.
