BOSTON – April 14, 2025 — A total of 62 small businesses from across Massachusetts will receive $779,397 in funding through the Biz-M-Power Grant Program, a crowdfunding-matching initiative administered by MassDevelopment’s Growth Capital Division. Grants range from $2,500 to $20,000 and are aimed at helping businesses grow by investing in equipment, new or renovated facilities, or other capital expenses.
The grants are awarded to businesses that successfully crowdfund on the Patronicity platform, which helps them engage directly with their communities. This round of funding represents the fourth since the program’s creation in 2021 and the first since the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation merged into MassDevelopment in February 2025.
“Small businesses form the backbone of our economy,” said Yvonne Hao, Massachusetts Secretary of Economic Development and chair of MassDevelopment’s Board of Directors. “Biz-M-Power continues to be an important tool for helping these businesses grow and succeed in Massachusetts.”
“We’re proud to co-invest with communities in every region of the state,” said Navjeet Bal, MassDevelopment President and CEO. “Thanks to the support of the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the legislature, we are expanding access to resources for small businesses to thrive.”
