BETHESDA, Md. — Walker & Dunlop, Inc. announced today that it has arranged $153.3 million in refinancing for a three-property, 876-unit multifamily portfolio developed by Hathaway Development. The assets—located in Louisiana, Florida, and North Carolina—were refinanced through floating-rate bridge loans provided by ACRES.
The Walker & Dunlop Capital Markets team, led by Stephen Farnsworth, Hanes Dunn, and Robert Henry, structured the financing to retire existing construction loans and redeem preferred equity, strengthening the portfolio’s capital position while securing favorable loan terms.
“We’re proud to have partnered with Hathaway Development on the refinance of this three-property portfolio,” said Dunn, senior manager at Walker & Dunlop. “Working closely with our trusted lender partner ACRES, we secured attractive first-mortgage financing that optimized proceeds and supported Hathaway’s strategic plan. The transaction reflects the quality of the assets, the strength of the sponsorship, and the expertise our team brings to every mandate.”
The portfolio includes:
-
Exchange at Juban – A 264-unit garden-style community in Denham Springs, Louisiana, completed in 2024 and refinanced for $44.7 million.
-
Exchange at Blair Stone – A 300-unit property in Tallahassee, Florida, delivered in January 2025 and refinanced for $52.4 million.
-
Exchange at Indian Trail – A 312-unit community in Indian Trail, North Carolina, also completed in January 2025 and refinanced for $56.2 million.
“These properties exemplify our strategy of investing in markets where meaningful supply–demand imbalances create strong opportunities for rent growth and long-term value,” said Daniel Hathaway of Hathaway Development. “Walker & Dunlop’s support was instrumental in closing this transaction and reinforcing our long-term investment goals.”
Walker & Dunlop remains one of the largest capital providers to the U.S. multifamily sector. In 2024, the firm originated more than $30 billion in total debt financing, including over $25 billion for multifamily properties.
