Boston–After twenty years serving as a strategist and marketer for regional architecture, planning, and engineering firms, Valerie Puchades, CPSM, has joined Charrette Venture Group (CVG) as a Marketing Specialist.

CVG is one of the world’s only shared-risk investment firms focused on growing small-to-mid-sized architecture firms. With a mission to “help small architecture firms be better businesses,” CVG offers management consulting services in exchange for a percentage of revenue.

The company is headquartered in Iowa but has employed an international virtual workforce since being founded in 2014.

“This is a unique opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in the Boston marketplace to growing architecture firms across the country,” Puchades notes. “It differs from being a traditional marketing consultant in that CVG takes a holistic approach to the health of the entire small architecture firm. I’ll be viewing all aspects of design firm leadership, management, and operations through the marketing and business development lens.”

Puchades has formerly held marketing positions at Boston’s GUND Partnership, Harriman, and The Cecil Group. She is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and has held positions at the local, regional and national levels. In 2018-2019 she served as President of SMPS Boston and was the recipient of the SMPS Striving for Excellence Grand Prize award for Best Chapter. In 2021 she was named Marketer of the Year, SMPS Boston’s highest honor.

“Valerie was a natural choice for this strategy-based, versatile role at CVG” says CVG Partner, Emily Hall. “Having worked with her in the A/E/C industry for years, she stands out as a leader in her field who is up for the challenge of guiding the marketing programs of dozens of small and mid-sized design firms.”
