BOSTON—Michael Smith, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company’s Boston office, announced the strategic hiring of Thomas Aitken.
Effective immediately, Aitken, a 30-year industry veteran, joins Avison Young as a Senior Vice-President in the firm’s Boston office. He will continue to serve both tenants and landlords in the 128 North and 128 Core markets. Aitken most recently served as Senior Managing Director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Boston.

Aitken is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, NAIOP, and Commercial Brokers Association (CBA), and is a CCIM candidate of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute. Annually, Aitken has been awarded with the CBA Multi-Million Dollar Lease Club Achievement Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from New England College.
