BOSTON– Applications are now being accepted for the Fallon Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program, a free, six-week summer program that teaches Boston-area students ages 16-21 the fundamentals of the real estate industry.
The annual program, which is hosted by The Fallon Company and Street2Ivy, will be hosted at Wentworth Institute of Technology from July 9 to August 14 and will teach students the basics of commercial real estate investment, exposing them to relevant industry skills while establishing relationships with industry mentors.
The program is a collaboration between The Fallon Company, a leading national real estate development firm headquartered in Boston, and Street2Ivy, an entrepreneurial incubator focused on providing aspiring changemakers in underserved communities the tools and resources they need to achieve economic empowerment. Participants will learn critical skills for succeeding in the commercial real estate industry, including identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities, conducting property valuations and market analysis, raising capital and navigating the purchase process.
“Our mission is to unlock the entrepreneurial promise for those who have been underestimated and unseen, which is exemplified by this wonderful program,” said Tavares Brewington, founder of Street2Ivy. “Through our continued partnership with The Fallon Company, we’ve been able to introduce students to some of the leading experts in commercial real estate, providing them with the valuable knowledge and hands-on industry experience that could lead to a promising, future career.”
The Fallon Company is the founding partner of the Real Estate Entrepreneurship Youth Program, which aligns with the company’s commitment to foster equal and fair inclusion across all projects, direct greater philanthropic support to overlooked and vulnerable communities, and bolster the pipeline of diverse real estate professionals.
“We are proud to partner with Street2Ivy to offer a program that opens doors for young individuals in our communities. Our goal is straightforward: to nurture new talent for the commercial real estate field, while supporting the economic growth of students and their neighborhoods,” said Michael Fallon, CEO of the Fallon Company. “We believe this program is a stepping stone for the participants to enhance their economic prospects and contribute meaningfully to the industry’s diversity.”
The cohort will meet industry professionals, tour some of Boston’s most exciting projects and evaluate realistic investment opportunities. The program will begin with a summer kickoff event on June 10 in Boston’s Seaport, followed by twice weekly evening classes through the duration of the six week program.
