BOSTON – The Davis Companies announced the appointment of Andrew Kurd as Managing Director to lead its New York City office. Kurd will oversee regional investment activity and join Davis’ investment committee, with a mandate to expand the firm’s presence across the Greater New York market.
Kurd brings over 15 years of experience in real estate investment and finance to his new role. He will play a key part in executing Davis’ multi-asset class investment strategy and scaling the firm’s footprint in one of the most competitive markets in the country.
“Andrew’s deep familiarity with the New York market and his proven ability to creatively identify and realize investment potential position him perfectly to help lead our strategy in the region,” said Quentin Reynolds, Chief Investment Officer at Davis. “As we build upon our long history in New York, Andrew’s experience and perspective will maximize our team’s unique ability to unlock opportunities and deliver top value for our investors.”
Davis first entered the New York market 15 years ago and has steadily grown its portfolio through strategic acquisitions and developments. Its nearly $1 billion Fund V already includes several NYC-based assets, and with Kurd at the helm, the firm is poised to deploy additional capital across the region.
Kurd most recently served as Co-Chief Investment Officer at Savanna, a prominent New York real estate investment firm, where he oversaw more than $4.5 billion in acquisitions, financing, and dispositions. Before that, he was part of Deutsche Bank’s commercial real estate group.
“Davis is widely recognized for its disciplined, value-driven investment philosophy. I’m thrilled to join the team at a pivotal moment of growth for the firm,” said Kurd. “The Greater New York market is dynamic, complex, and full of opportunity. I look forward to expanding the platform and deploying capital creatively and strategically to grow Davis’ impact in the region.”
Kurd holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Davis’ growing New York portfolio includes high-profile investments such as 55 Willoughby Street, The Symon, and 540 Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn; 168 Plymouth in DUMBO; and Rise LIC in Long Island City. The firm is also actively developing new projects like a multifamily property at 1975 Madison Avenue in Central Harlem and an 18-story Manhattan Mini Storage facility on West 29th Street in Chelsea.
