BOSTON– Suffolk has announced the appointment of PJ Johnson as Executive Vice President, Division Manager for its Northeast region. Johnson joins the Suffolk team with over 30 years of experience delivering some of the most complex and high-profile construction projects in the region.

In his new role, Johnson will lead Suffolk’s operational strategy across the Northeast, overseeing project execution, enhancing performance across teams, and ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term growth initiatives. His appointment underscores Suffolk’s commitment to operational excellence and its strategic expansion in one of the country’s most dynamic construction markets.

“PJ brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from decades of successfully leading complex projects and teams,” said Patrick Lucey, General Manager of Suffolk’s Northeast Division. “His leadership, operational expertise, and commitment to excellence make him an outstanding addition to our organization as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Prior to joining Suffolk, Johnson held senior leadership roles at Turner Construction, where he spent three decades. His impressive project portfolio includes the redevelopment of Commonwealth Pier, MIT.nano – MIT’s flagship nanotechnology research building – and Harvard University’s LISE (Laboratory of Integrated Science and Engineering) building. He also led preconstruction efforts for Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies, a landmark project that will be the university’s first fully mass timber high-rise.

“I am excited to join Suffolk,” said Johnson. “The company’s forward-thinking approach and use of technology to enhance project delivery and collaboration truly sets it apart. I am looking forward to working with our teams and partners to drive operational excellence and support Suffolk’s continued growth across the region.”

Johnson’s appointment comes at a time of rapid growth for Suffolk in the Northeast. The firm recently completed 10 World Trade, a 585,000-square-foot office and lab building that has become a landmark in Boston’s Seaport District. Suffolk is also leading construction on South Station Tower, a transformative mixed-use high-rise; 585 Kendall in Cambridge, a cutting-edge life sciences and public arts space; a new practice facility for the New England Patriots; and major upgrades to Logan International Airport’s Terminal E.

Additionally, Suffolk is delivering critical public infrastructure projects, including the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and the new Quincy MBTA Station.

Suffolk continues to be an industry leader in integrating advanced technologies such as AI, predictive analytics, and digital collaboration platforms into construction workflows. With PJ Johnson at the helm of its Northeast operations, the company is poised to further enhance its capabilities and deliver even greater value to clients and communities across the region.
