Suffolk Hires Preston Hoopes as General Manager of Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO–Suffolk announced the appointment of Preston Hoopes as General Manager of Northern California, a move that underscores the company’s continued investment in leadership, innovation and strategic growth throughout the region.

In this role, Mr. Hoopes will leverage his strong relationships to lead Suffolk’s expansion throughout Northern California, strengthen client partnerships, and advance the company’s footprint in key growth sectors including healthcare, life sciences, higher education and corporate clients.

Mr. Hoopes will focus on introducing and deepening client relationships, expanding Suffolk’s regional footprint, and positioning the company for long-term success in one of the nation’s most dynamic markets.

To ensure a smooth transition and provide leadership support in the region, Suffolk Executive Vice President Jim McLamb will work closely with Mr. Hoopes to win work, deepen relationships, increase operational efficiencies, and deliver quality service for clients. Executive Vice President, Division Manager Brad Denney will continue to build on the success of Suffolk’s Special Projects division and help drive operational excellence on special and interior jobsites throughout the region.

Suffolk’s California portfolio continues to expand with transformative projects recently completed or underway, including with Gilead in Foster City; at 78 Haight and 1629 Market Street in San Francisco; One Beverly Hills, Sixth Street Place and LACCD Pierce College Child Development Academic Facility in Los Angeles; and Union Tower and Park Summit in San Diego.

By leveraging data and advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, robotics, drones and digital collaboration tools, Suffolk project teams can make smarter decisions, increase transparency for clients, and drive greater efficiency and certainty throughout every stage of the building lifecycle.
