Braintree, MA-–South Shore Plaza is adding two new names to its roster of trend-driven retailers just in time for the holiday shopping season. The Braintree mall announced that POP MART, the global collectible phenomenon, and Rolife, a fast-growing DIY craft brand, will both open new locations this month — bringing more creative and collectible experiences to shoppers south of Boston.
POP MART Expands in Massachusetts
Known for igniting the international “blind box” craze, POP MART will open its second Massachusetts store at South Shore Plaza in late November. The brand, which has more than 350 stores worldwide across 30 countries, is celebrated for its art-driven collectible figurines featuring characters such as CRYBABY, LABUBU, SKULLPANDA, and MOLLY.
POP MART’s arrival marks another step in the company’s U.S. expansion, following recent openings in major metro markets. The new location will cater to both longtime collectors and newcomers drawn to the brand’s signature surprise-box model and colorful, pop-inspired art toys.
Rolife to Open First Massachusetts Flagship
Joining POP MART will be Rolife, which will debut its first-ever Massachusetts flagship store on November 15 at 2 p.m. The creative DIY brand specializes in miniature houses, 3D wooden puzzles, book nooks, and its own blind box collectible line, Nanci.
Rolife’s store will focus on hands-on creativity and mindfulness, with kits designed for both adults and older children. To celebrate its grand opening, the brand is offering special promotions for early visitors:
-
The first 10 customers will receive exclusive prizes.
-
All shoppers making a purchase on opening day will receive a small gift.
-
The first 30 guests spending over $100 will receive a custom DIY t-shirt created on site.
A Boost for South Shore Plaza’s Pop Culture Appeal
“Shoppers are going to love the addition of POP MART and Rolife to South Shore Plaza, particularly right before the busy holiday shopping season,” said Amy Sullivan, Director of Marketing and Business Development at South Shore Plaza. “These innovative brands represent the best in collectible culture. Our guests are always looking for what’s new and trending, and both brands are perfect additions to our strong lineup of pop culture, collectible, and specialty retailers.”
The two newcomers join a growing list of experiential and fandom-focused retailers at South Shore Plaza. Other popular stops for collectors and pop culture enthusiasts include Miniso, BoxLunch, Newbury Comics, and Hot Topic.
A Hub for Creative Shopping Experiences
With POP MART and Rolife opening within weeks of each other, South Shore Plaza continues to solidify its reputation as a destination for shoppers seeking both trendsetting brands and hands-on experiences.
The plaza’s new tenants reflect a broader retail trend: the rise of interactive and design-oriented stores that blend creativity, fandom, and lifestyle — appealing to consumers eager for experiences that go beyond traditional shopping.
