BOSTON—SGA, a Boston and New York City-based national award-winning architecture, interior design, planning, branded environments and virtual design and construction practice, announced that it has acquired Portland, Maine-based J Talka Consulting LLC and has appointed its founder, Jeff Talka, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP as director of SGA’s fast-growing Science and Technology group.
Mr. Talka has 40 years of experience as a practicing architect focused on research and development facilities for the biomedical, pharmaceutical, academic, and corporate sectors.

Mr. Talka has programmed, planned and designed over 3 million square feet of science and technology projects and facilities on a worldwide basis.
His experience includes pharmaceutical and biotech research and development, engineering, biomedical, STEM, vivaria, cleanroom and cGMP facilities.
In addition, he is sought globally as a speaker on the design of these facilities from an integrated architecture-engineering approach.
