BOSTON— The Boston-based real estate advisory and investment firm Senné announced the promotion of Clark Fonda to Executive Director of Government Affairs.
Based in Washington, D.C. Fonda will expand upon his prior role to lead Government Affairs at Senné and will spend more time in the corporate headquarters, where he will spearhead all government affairs services for the firm including the Boston, Cambridge and the Greater Boston area. Fonda will also monitor city, state and federal policies and initiatives to determine which concerns may affect Senné’s work and client projects.
This elevation of his role represents Senné’s increased commitment to innovation in all facets of real estate. Fonda will ensure that the needs of Senné’s clients and investors are strategically aligned with key policy concerns. In addition to regular policy updates, identifying advocacy opportunities, and working collaboratively with government entities, Fonda will help to support and create stronger policies.
Fonda will serve as a liaison to key industry stakeholders, such as GBREB, Members of Congress, and state and local officials. In the past, under Fonda’s direction, the Government Affairs team led efforts on a number of real estate policy initiatives, ranging from state and federal tax issues to local construction and property sale ordinances.
Prior to Senné, Fonda provided hyper-relevant financial services, trade and national security policy consulting, and also held several senior government positions, including as a congressional Chief of Staff for a member of the House Financial Services Committee. While in Congress, Fonda led bipartisan efforts to pass the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA), which redefined U.S. export controls and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), along with working on a broad legislative portfolio, which included emerging technology issues. Fonda also worked directly with Senné to successfully reform and improve the High Volatility Commercial Real Estate loan designation process.
“Clark Fonda has been a dedicated member of the Senné team for years. His well-deserved promotion represents the future of Senné’s continued advocacy on behalf of our clients, investors, and the industry generally. We’ve always believed collaboration and creativity can result in better solutions. We’re looking forward to continuing this work in public and government affairs,” said William Senné, President and CEO.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Senné leadership team at such a critical time. Here at Senné, Government Affairs is closely tied to all of our internal departments, and that’s one of the reasons that our team stands out among the rest in the real estate industry. We will continue to provide one-of-a-kind client experiences that make Senné second to none,” said Fonda.
Fonda has a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, a Master’s Degree in Irregular Warfare from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern California. Fonda currently resides in Washington, D.C.
