Boston–Rogerson Communities, one of Massachusetts’ oldest nonprofit providers of housing and services for older adults, announced the appointment of Michael Quirk as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective December 1, 2025.

Quirk joins Rogerson from Integritus Healthcare in Pittsfield, Mass., where he served as Vice President of Housing Operations. His hiring marks a significant leadership addition as the Boston-based organization advances its five-year strategic plan focused on operational excellence and growth in affordable senior housing and care.

Experienced Leader in Senior Living

“We’re thrilled that we found an executive as experienced and dedicated to the well-being of older adults as Mike,” said Walter Ramos, President and CEO of Rogerson Communities. “The COO role calls not just for deep knowledge of senior living, housing, and care services, but also a passion for mission-driven work like ours. It demands excellence in operational and team leadership, strategic execution, compliance and risk management, and financial stewardship. Mike has all of that and more. He’s a great fit for this organization.”

With nearly 15 years of leadership experience across independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and continuing care communities throughout Massachusetts, Quirk brings deep operational and strategic expertise. His background includes previous work with Rogerson’s Briarwood community in Worcester, as well as a record of stabilizing and growing occupancy, overseeing budgets and capital plans, and leading organizational improvement initiatives.

Quirk will step into his new role at a critical juncture for both the organization and the wider senior care sector, which continues to face financial and workforce challenges statewide.

As Rogerson enters the second year of its current strategic plan, Quirk will focus on centralizing operations and fostering cross-functional collaboration — key steps toward the organization’s goal of building 1,000 new affordable housing units by 2030 and expanding programs and services for older adults across Massachusetts.

In a statement, Quirk said he was honored to return to an organization known for its long-standing commitment to seniors.

“I truly appreciate the opportunity to support the important, mission-driven work that Rogerson continues to do after so many years serving older adults in Greater Boston and eastern Massachusetts, as well as in Worcester,” Quirk said. “There are so many who depend on Rogerson, from the residents and participants we serve to the professionals we employ. It’s all about people, and expanding our reach to serve more is crucial to realizing our vision.”
