Cheyenne, WY–Related Digital has broken ground on a new 115-acre data center campus in the Cheyenne Business Parkway. The $1.2 billion project will be developed in phases and is planned to provide up to 302 megawatts (MW) of critical IT capacity.

The first building will total 184,000 square feet, built on 36 acres, and is expected to be completed by late 2026. It will be anchored by CoreWeave, which has signed a long-term lease for 88 MWs of capacity. CoreWeave provides high-performance computing services for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads.

The project is expected to generate more than $250 million in tax revenue over 15 years and create over 700 construction jobs and 40 permanent jobs.

To reduce environmental impact, the data center will use air-cooled chillers instead of water-intensive systems, requiring minimal water use primarily for domestic purposes.

Construction is being managed by Clayco, and Black Hills Energy will serve as the electric utility provider.

Local officials, including Governor Mark Gordon and Mayor Patrick Collins, attended the groundbreaking ceremony along with representatives from CoreWeave, Clayco, and other project partners.
