BOSTON— Parker-Torres Design, a hospitality interior design firm, has hired Carrie Tolman as associate principal and director of luxury hospitality interiors, the company announced. The newly created leadership role reflects the firm’s continued growth and follows the recent opening of its Miami office.
In her position, Tolman will oversee luxury hospitality design projects across the firm’s offices in Boston, Chicago, and Miami.
Company co-founder Barbara Parker said the firm’s integration into Baker Barrios Architects and the resulting growth created an opportunity to expand its leadership structure. She noted that Tolman’s experience and industry reputation make her “an asset to our firm as well as our clients,” citing her ability to design luxury environments that reflect contemporary travel and lifestyle trends.
Co-founder Miriam Torres said the Miami expansion strengthens the firm’s reach, particularly with clients in South America. She pointed to data showing sustained growth in Latin America’s hospitality sector and emphasized that having a local presence increases accessibility for regional clients.
Tolman said she is joining the firm at a time of heightened activity in luxury hospitality, driven by rising interest in experiential travel and emerging global destinations. “Parker-Torres has a long history of truly impressive work, and I’m very happy to now be a part of shaping the firm’s future,” she said.
Before joining Parker-Torres Design, Tolman spent 14 years at KTGY/Simeone Deary Design Group, where she most recently oversaw a new residential interiors division expanding on the firm’s hospitality expertise. Her work has earned multiple industry awards, including recognition for LondonHouse Chicago, The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, and the Marriott Austin. She has also been active in the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH), previously serving as a scholarship chair for her local chapter.
