BOSTON–More than $75,000 was raised during the 22nd annual Mulligan Golf Tournament hosted by NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions, a housing service provider in southern Massachusetts.

The event, held last month at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, sold out early in the spring, with more than 144 golfers coming out in support of the work conducted by NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament will support the new NHS Veterans’ Fund that provides resources and assistance to veterans and their families living in NHS housing. NHS provides over 65 units of housing specifically for veterans and their families, with an additional eight units of housing coming online later this fall in Marshfield.

“It is unacceptable to us that a veteran who fought for our very freedom is homeless right here in their hometown,” said Carin L. Paulette, director of veterans’ services for the town of Marshfield.  “NeighborWorks Housing Solutions is working hard to end veteran homelessness by building beautiful, top-of-the-line veteran homes throughout the commonwealth.  Having a home for veterans embedded in the community creates a sense of belonging for the veteran as well as pride and honor within the community.  I wish there were a home like the one NeighborWorks is building right now in Marshfield in every town.”

“We are grateful to the many businesses, golfers, sponsors and volunteers who came out to support veterans and our Veterans’ Fund – many have been joining us year after year,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.  “We are grateful to everyone for their dedication and willingness to give to help veterans in our communities.”
