CAMBRIDGE, MA— Nauset Construction has announced the completion of 605 Concord at Fresh Pond, a new mixed-use, transit-oriented development that adds 49 modern apartments and 2,500 square feet of ground-floor retail to one of Cambridge’s most walkable neighborhoods.

Developed by Acorn Holdings LLC, the six-story building combines residential amenities, sustainable design, and green space access—offering a premier urban living experience near Alewife Station and Fresh Pond Park.

The 69,000-square-foot community was designed by Piatt Associates and features a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom pet-friendly apartments, including 15% affordable units. Many residences include balconies or rooftop terraces with scenic views of Fresh Pond Park and the reservoir. Building amenities include a contemporary fireplace lounge, free bike storage, and a striking 12-foot-high glass storefront that enhances street-level interaction.

“605 Concord continues our mission to create well-located, thoughtfully designed residential communities that support the evolving needs of urban renters,” said Phil Terzis, Vice President of Development at Acorn Holdings. “The Fresh Pond neighborhood is ideal for residents seeking a balance of convenience, amenities, and access to green space.”

Sustainability is a key feature of the development. The building envelope exceeds energy code requirements, and all systems—including heating, cooling, and fresh-air intake—are high-efficiency. The roof includes green plantings, city views, and is solar-ready. Fixtures meet low-use water standards, and all appliances are Energy Star certified. Residents also benefit from a free shuttle to Alewife Station on the MBTA Red Line, improving transit connectivity.

605 Concord marks the latest collaboration between Nauset and Acorn, continuing a decade-plus partnership that has delivered several prominent Cambridge-area developments, including Park 77, 7 Cameron, and St. James Place.

“Working again with Acorn Holdings and Piatt Associates on a site like this, where urban infill challenges are real, showcases the strength of our long-standing partnerships,” said Anthony Papantonis, President of Nauset Construction. “We’re proud to help shape communities that balance livability, design, and sustainability in the heart of Cambridge.”
